The Alabama Governor’s Commission on Physical Fitness is a proud partner of the National
Association for Health and Fitness. The Commission aims to encourage, promote and improve
the physical fitness and wellness of all residents of Alabama. The Commission works to
prevent and reduce obesity and ensure that schools have the resources to promote fitness
programs, while partnering on other health and fitness initiatives for ALL ages such as the
following:
Alabama Senior Olympics, alseniorolympics.org For those 50 years and older, wanting to
compete in their favorite sport or even start a new sport, you can qualify to compete against
athletes in your age bracket from all across the country in the National Senior Games.
In the spring of 2022, our senior athletes will compete against the best in the world at the 2022
National Senior Games in Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.
100alabamamiles.org This challenge encourages the state’s residents to walk, run, hike, bike,
swim, paddle, ride or roll 100 miles each year. The program urges all Alabamians to be active,
go explore and connect with others.

apcpreserves.com Alabama Power Recreation Sites. Great resources that allow people to
enjoy, learn, and grow a deeper appreciation of our state’s ecology and natural landscape.
Alabama State Games (ASF Foundation) asffoundation.org Open to Alabama Residents of
ALL ages, compete in over 25 different sports, held each year. The Alabama State Games are
part of a nationwide network of state games.
