  • Creating lunchtime fitness groups who meet during mealtimes to walk, run or bike.
  • Forming commuter groups who bike or walk to and from work together.
  • Establishing healthy meal clubs that share lunch recipes, cook for one another once a week and distribute healthy snacks to each other through the day.
  • Establish a “Health Binder” containing healthy recipes, fit tips, basic stretches, etc. and place the Binder in a common area so that employees can contribute to this resource and/or make copies of existing resources within the Binder.
  • Have a group join community athletic leagues including soccer, softball, volleyball or kickball OR challenge each other in friendly games of soccer, softball, kickball or basketball. If enough teams, host a “MAY MADNESS” tournament.
  • Fitness Trail:  Set up a fitness trail within your office or building or surrounding property. Post signs at elevators encouraging the use of stairs.
  • Wellness Route:  Map out a 10 minute walk route for employees.  Map one route inside (for inclement weather) and one outside.
  • Work with local restaurants, cafes, etc to respectfully request “healthy” food options on the menu.  Promote the establishment within the workplace when healthy changes are on the menu.
  • Fine Tasting Party - Tasting party over lunch where participants can taste small samples of a variety of protein bars, Greek yogurt, blueberries, veggies, hummus, etc. Include samples of a small variety of green, white and herbal teas and fruit drinks. Each participant is given a sheet for each sample as a shopping list reminder.
  • In the Stretch: Play gentle music during which employees are to stand up and stretch for 3 minutes.
  • DEAL Moments – DO Exercise and Live – Spontaneous DEALS where everyone, including executives, maintenance workers, cafeteria workers, drops what they are doing and move to music!
  • Provide Calorie information and post nutrition education posters comparing various food choices.
  • GIANT SALAD BOWL:  Each employee signs up to bring in a different item to put into a giant salad.  Provide a variety of dressings.
